| Ever since he killed her pet rabbit, Hilde has played nasty pranks on Viking Sigurd. From stealing his clothes, to putting a cow in his bedroom, Hilde is a thorn in Sigurd's side. When he catches her in a trap, he also realizes she's a rather pretty young woman. But her words of disgust about his endowments soon remind him just how irritating she is.
When Sigurd's father arranges his marriage, he at first hates the idea but soon accepts it and decides to make the best of it. Unfortunately, it turns out that his bride is Hilde. Master My Viking was a quirky story with plenty of off-the-wall humor. The romance between Sigurd and Hilde reminded me of Sandra Hill's The Tarnished Lady. Sigurd was a deliberately arrogant hero, especially about his sexual prowess. He was hilarious, but his confidence wasn't completely misplaced. He was sexy and definitely knew what he was doing when he finally got Hilde in one place. Hilde was feisty as they come, and even though her stubbornness could've been irritating, I liked that it made Sigurd work harder to get her. Master My Viking had all the passion, humor, and even action, that a good novella romance should have. If you want a lighthearted, funny story, go for this one.
