Jin is the heir to the throne of the merged Danpe and Hinjou tribes. Many fear once he takes the throne he will have too much power. After a failed assassination attempt he is left wounded and in desperate need of help. He is forced to break the rule against revealing himself to a human in order to survive.

Adina Carr could not believe that she had a wounded vampire in her home. To make matters worse she is sure that whoever caused him harm will be back to finish the job. She does not know that by simply helping him she had placed herself in danger.

Jinn is determined that Adina escape to safety. He knows the further away from him Adina goes the safer she will be. As they travel together to a point of safety Jin can not fight the attraction he feels for Adina. He is not aware that he is in heat and unknowingly marks Adina as his mate.

Readers enter a world where humans are not meant to go in Mating Season by Hayat Ali. A passionate and emotionally stirring romance that takes the reader on a thrilling action filled adventure. Readers will find themselves drawn into this romance between Jin and Adina. Two characters brought together in a situation out of their control. They are forced together just to survive and find themselves turning to each other due to attraction and a need to feel safe and comforted. Comfort soon turns to all out passion as they give into their feelings. The feelings of hopelessness and loss is touches the heart of the reader. Knowing that their love is forbidden, readers will find themselves grieving for this couple as they begin to go their separate ways.

The action is exciting as danger follows on their heels. Readers will be enthralled and unable to stop reading as the need to know what happens grows. This is a highly creative fast paced story with an easily recognized plot that will involve the emotions of the reader. The only problem with this story I found was that it left this reader with a overwhelming need to know what happens next as this story is sure to be continued. I can only hope that the next book is soon to be released for I will definitely be looking for it in the future.
