| Ash Darkwood travels to Russia with his cousin Adrian to visit Nikolai Tamits and his Wawkalak pack of werewolf’s. On the night of the full moon, just as the pack began their transformation, Ash noticed a small woman in the group; he could not resist going closer to her as she began to change into her wolf shape. As he too began his change he scented her on the wind…and discovered that she was his mate – the one he had been searching for. Forgetting about hunting with the rest of the pack, he started to chase after the silver coloured female. She knew he was chasing her and tried to evade him, but Ash, a good tracker was hot on her trail. At last he managed to corner and subdued her with a bite at her shoulder. He knew she was as aroused as he was and wanted their joining…so why was she trying to deny that they were mates?
Nikolai’s cousin Lilia is not happy to acknowledge that Ash is her mate. She had worked hard to gain independence and become a hunter in her pack. She did not want a male telling her what she could or could not do; she wanted freedom to do her own thing. Although this is a short story, it has quite a few sensual scenes in it. I would have liked more background interaction between Ash and Lilia, but the length of the story stopped that from happening. Putting that aside it is a good addition to Ms. King’s ‘Moon Lust’ series, and I look forward to reading hopefully a full length novel, about Adrian and his search for his mate.
