Evan hates women being abused for any reason by anyone. So when he finds the sexiest woman in the place being hassled by a no good wannabe solider, he feels it's his place to intervene. Zondra and Evan both know a relationship between them is going to be difficult; her Xxan DNA complicates things and means she needs a special chemical introduced to her womb to be able to conceive, a chemical humans don't produce. But the scientists think they can artificially make it from Evan's own hormones.

Zondra has been raised as a Xxan, a race that worships the females and kills if one is so much as marked. Her ability to know her worth in life without becoming a spoiled child is a credit to her family and to her own self values. Finding herself a man, from what is generally a weaker race, but is alpha enough to dominate her and stand up to her family is a strength not many women show.

Ms Lyon's second Xxan book is as captivating as the first with an amazing range of characters all of whom have a code of honour usually associated with Special Forces officers.
