| If there's one woman Adam York ever wanted, it was his old running pal, Chloe. Looking forward to seeing her at his twenty-fifth high school reunion, he's sorely disappointed. She's nowhere to be found. However, a few weeks later he sees her on a reality television show while flicking through the stations. Now more than ever he's eager to reconnect with her.
After walking off the set of the reality television show, Get Lei'd, with her dignity in shreds, Chloe Lane has had a number of disastrous dates due to her brush with fame. What is it with men? The only thing to do is swear off men altogether, which may prove to be harder than she thinks when she runs into Adam, her old high school running partner on the course of the Lake Tahoe Marathon. From the very beginning, I loved this story. It was a sweet romantic tale with a great heroine and a daughter that wanted her mother to be happy and find love again. The plot was well written and I loved the way Chloe didn't get the chance to be at the reunion due to other commitments, but how her and Adam reuniting further into the story at the one place that took them back to their high school days -– a running event. The dialogue was great, and not just between Adam and Chloe, but also Chloe and her daughter as well as other family members showing the close bonds they shared. What I liked so much about Chloe was that she took her daughter's feelings into consideration and didn't rush into a relationship with Adam. While with Adam, I liked his eagerness to get close to Chloe again. Well, what can I say? They were made for each other. Too bad it took them twenty five years to realise that. Overall, I really enjoyed this story and can't wait to read other books written by this author. Well done, Ms. Gallant.
