| Ms. Lucy Monroe, writing here as L.C. Monroe, is a well-known, beloved author of several different genres. This is the first inspirational romance I have read by her. However, I was not surprised, loving her work as I do, that this book, too, is a fabulous manuscript. I loved the plot of this particular book and got involved in it from the first page and it gripped my imagination through the last word. I absolutely could not put it down.
Divorced Meagan O’Hare was lost. Thanks to her friend’s hubby, she had no idea where she was. And to make matters worse, she now had a flat and was out of gas. When she managed to walk to the closest house, she was met by an irate woman screaming Spanish who ran out the door and drove off. Meagan soon learned that Jason (9) and Mandy (6), the two children, were without a caregiver until their dad, the professor, got home. Meagan had no choice but to remain there until their father returned from his classes. Widower Adam McAllister had expected the new nanny to show up. Just as his housekeeper, Estelle, he assumed that Meagan was there to take care of the children. How was he going to travel for the weekend without someone to watch the kids? He had an interview set with the dean of a university in another city. He couldn’t very well cancel at this late time. Ms. Monroe’s characters were to-die-for. Her alpha male lead was regimented and so involved with routines and schedules that he sometimes forgot that Jason and Mandy needed to be children. Her leading lady, Meagan, was quite the opposite but was equally determined that spontaneity kept children well grounded. The supporting cast was also well written. There were two people who were destined to love each other regardless of the sparks that flew. This is book destined for greatness. I can honestly recommend it to everyone, regardless of preferred genre. I look forward to more of this type from her.
