| Ian Black is a minor con man and thief. Working for himself doesn’t net him a lot of money but so far he hasn’t been in jail much. Out for his usual day of making contacts he’s almost run over by a woman being chased by two guys with a gun. She’s cute so he does the gentlemanly thing to help her. He didn’t realize he was helping an alien or being sucked in to a situation way over his head when he agrees to help her take the box she‘d stolen to KOTE headquarters.
Bonnie Dee does a great job building this story and her characters. Suspense, romance, powerful villains, a tricky ending and Ian’s humor all work together to make this a fast moving tale. Ian isn’t your typical superhero but we have to give him credit for not turning tale and running when he finds out Mira is a Terran. His quick thinking helped by a little precognition and his street smarts that help him tell a lie with a straight face gets them out of trouble many times. Mira is Terran, a Keeper with power to help people psychically heal. Her high moral standards aren’t what attracts Ian but she still seems to be just what he needs to help him act like a better man. Raymond Brody is a recurring nasty guy in this series. It’s always fun to see someone like Ian get the best of him. This is another great book by Bonnie Dee full of humor, twists and turns and just fun reading.
