| Devin just got out of a rocky five year relationship with a man who didn't want to stick around but didn't have the stones to tell him. He finds himself cruising The Silver Fox for a quick screw or an easy fight. He finds himself watching Ewyn and his abusive boyfriend arguing instead. An offer of food and drink may become more than either expected.
Ewyn comes off as sweet, shy, cocky, and handsome and he pulls off each one flawlessly. Ewyn's boyfriend, Gareth, is abusive type that apologizes only to hit Ewyn a few days later. For a while Gareth backs off but once he notices Ewyn looking in Devin's direction he does his best to regain control, it doesn't work. Now I am the first to admit I have never been big on suspense novels but I was reeled into this romantic suspense before I finished the first chapter. I am the type of person who reads in total silence so I can 'hear' the story. Devin and Ewyn had me turn off my air conditioning just so I wouldn't be distracted, and it's over 90 degrees where I live. By chapter two I was hooked on these two with their mysterious jobs and hot passion. Each man has their own kinks that I didn't know whether to laugh or fan myself while reading about them. Ewyn grew up in a world of violence and even though he is a mob brat doing his best to survive on his own, that doesn't stop his family from watching out for him. Devin wants nothing more than to keep Ewyn for himself but outside forces don't exactly agree with his plan. These two men may work for the government but there are other forces that come into play. Murderers and mob bosses seem to want to keep a close eye on these two but damn it if I wouldn't want to keep an eye on them too, but for purely selfish reasons. M.E. Reid made Devin and Ewyn come to life and I can't wait to find out if their story continues.
