| Devin McCudahy is working on a very important,
once-in-a-lifetime construction job, when trouble
arrives in the form of a very elegant and determined
woman. Stephen Riggs has one request for Devin.
Stephen wants his daughter Caroline to shadow Devin on
the job. Devin doesn’t want to do it, but he knows he
has no choice. After all, Stephen is the boss and
Devin doesn’t want to mess up his big chance.
Unfortunately, Devin and Caroline clash from the
moment they meet and things don’t become any easier.
Caroline wants to use this opportunity to get to know her dad. Sure, she’s happy for the real life experience, but she wants to finally make peace with her father, a man who has been mostly absent from her privileged life. However, she finds a lot more than she bargained for with Devin. He’s definitely not going to kowtow to her, not that she wants him to, but a little compromise wouldn’t go amiss. Underneath their heated arguments is a passionate attraction that is ready to boil over. But will Caroline or Devin accept that there is something between them? Misconceptions, laughter, and a tender family story help to keep the pages turning in this loving novel. Pamela Johnson creates a battle of the sexes in McCudahy’s Merger. Devin and Caroline battle wills, wiles, and sexual attraction on and off the job site. Perhaps what makes this story stand out from every other romance story on the market is the wonderful sense of family that Ms. Johnson builds into her plot. Just as love is important to the protagonists, so is family. Caroline is searching for the family she has always longed for and Devin is attempting, though of course he doesn’t realize it at first, to make his own mark, his own family. Intelligence and desire spark off the pages of McCudahy’s Merger. This is a genuine tale of attraction between two people who are determined to find their place in the world. Devin and Caroline have a story to tell and it’s a fabulous one.
