| Livia was raised a slave who knew nothing of where she had come from, nor even who her people really were. Achates was the king of a people who were constantly having their infants taken from them. Together they would end the child stealing for all time. Together, they would become more than they were apart.
This was the first time that I had read any of Ms. Grant's work. I loved the way it was written and the way the story flowed along. I also loved the conflict, the dialogue, and the way she portrayed her characters. The situations in which Livia and Achates found themselves were (in my mind) realistic, believable, entirely possible, and totally probable. Not only did I absolutely love Mesmerized, but I will be recommending it to everyone that I know that loves a bit of fantasy included within their romace. Mesmerized will be put permanently into my "to be read" mountain. If you are looking a fantasy romance that feels so real you feel as though it could actually happen, please, by all means, read particular book.
