| Andrei is an elite soldier with the Phantom Corps. He has come a long way because eleven years ago he was a boy with no direction, stuck on a desert outpost called Asphodel. Also on Asphodel was Piper - his friend, lover, and only regret. Andrei is sent back to Asphodel and his contacts there to find out what the Imperialists are up to. His reunion with Piper and her family is more than he ever expected, and comes just in time to save them from an Imperialist attack. Now Andrei has to deal with his love for Piper and his dangerous job that Piper has embraced and made her own.
I have loved this series from book one and Mesmerized just continues the storyline perfectly. It can stand alone but I think you will enjoy it more if you have the history of the characters and the struggles they face with the Imperialist. Character driven, action packed, and intense sexual chemistry will keep you reading this book until the last page is turned. I really loved how well the author keeps the series flowing without taking away from the characters and their romance. She is a master at creating strong characters with believable flaws that the reader can really get to know. The members of the Phantom Corps are all unique characters that further enhance this book. The action scenes merge with the romance perfectly. Andrei is an elite soldier used to taking care of others and his ability to let Piper care for him demonstrates his softer side and how attuned to her he is. His struggle to protect Piper is balanced by his knowledge of her ability and his commitment to the Phantom Corps. It all blends beautifully to create a fantastic story that will pull you in and not let go. I'm looking forward to reading more books about the Phantom Corps and their fight against the Imperialists.
