A marriage between Gina Botelli, sister of the west coast cocaine king and Don Jesus Sanchez, a Mexican drug lord, seems like a potential coup for undercover cop Gabriel Sandalini. This may be the opportunity to bring down both drug rings. A one night stand may prove his undoing as the object of his lust, Miguel Ortega, appears to be Sanchez's right hand man. Instead Gina's lust for Gabriel irks her potential mate so much he wants Gabriel out of the picture. It seems like things can't get much worse but they do as the drug bust almost gets Gabriel killed.

Josh Lanyon and Laura Baumbach combine to put together a story that enthralls the reader from first page to last. The character building and scenarios make the tale seem realistic. Spoiled little rich girl Gina seems enchanted with Giovanni Contadino, Gabriel's alias. Too bad her spoiled brat mentality is what puts Gabriel at risk from both drug lords. Perhaps being used as a tool to join the families makes her more irresponsible. But I somehow doubt it.

Gabriel and Miguel seem to have little in common except lust that brings out the sexual beast in both at first. The authors do a great job shaping these two men so the pieces of their personality complement one another. Gabriel seems to find it easy to alienate people. Miguel is better at manipulating or seeming obsequious to cement his place in any negotiations. He has some interesting, erotic ways of teaching Gabriel patience. Gabriel is a slob in his personal life. Miguel is a neat, well organized man. Life circumstances force Gabriel to change his bad habits. This is one of those books where the authors entice the reader into the story, build it to a crescendo and keep the heat on both sexually and in the plot until it ends perfectly.
