Lyric Sage is down on her luck when it comes to jobs. That might change when she applies for one with the National Security Agency (NSA). As much as she needs it, she's unsure of herself and doubts she will get the position. As she heads home, she helps a stranger who seems to have a dark past. The touch of his hand gives her flashes of a frightening scene she could have done without.

Lucifer Tanner is a telekinetic who is now heading up a secret branch of the NSA called Midnight Underground. He now has to train Lyric to be the powerful psychic she was meant to be.

Michelle O'Neill and Lindsey Bayer have created an interesting story with Lyric and Lucifer. The attraction between these two is heavy with sexual desire. Passion and sex steam up the pages of this fantasy erotic romance. Awe-inspiring abilities abound, every character is unique and full of life. The main issue with Lyric is that she doesn't believe she is psychic but also doesn't want to use her abilities. She's afraid once they know this that she will once again be at the temp agency. Lucifer is doing his best to train her but she won't even admit that she is clairvoyant. An evil is out to steal their powers. What you are left to wonder is if she will accept her powers and work with Lucifer to overcome what lingers in the shadows. I found myself getting lost in the pages of this book but not always in a good way. I felt as though the sex came too quickly between these two. I had wanted to know more about the Midnight Underground crew so I can only hope this isn't the last we hear from them. The chapters are a bit too short for my taste. So if you are looking for a hot story with amazing abilities and a lurking evil this is a book for you.
