As a mortal, Eduard was a priest and he carries on with his work, providing a sanctuary for the lost souls of his kind.

As Frederica investigates the murders that happen within the vacuity of Darcy/Eduard's warehouse, the evidence points straight at him. But the more Frederica is around Eduard the more convinced she becomes that someone is setting Eduard up. He makes Frederica feel things and want things she'd never thought of before. Eduard's very presence caused her blood to heat and made her heart long for something Frederica couldn't put a name to. So while Frederica's heart fights with her brain, she starts to wonder who is really behind the killings, and why make Eduard the patsy.

Unknown to Frederica, Eduard too is searching for the killer. Someone is killing indiscriminately without thought or care of exposing those he protects. He can't allow feelings for Frederica to stand in his way. He may want her but… can he trust her? His second in command Vanko, doesn't trust her or want her near, but does Vanko have plans of his own? Suspicions are mounting as the body count rises. Who will be next?

Passions mount to a fever pitch between Frederica and Eduard as they search for a killer. Ideals clash between Eduard D'Arcy and Marchand LaValois, one fights for justice while the other for salvation, both aiming for the same thing. While Frederica is torn between the two, will love survive or will a killer end it for all? Nancy Gideon's story will keep you in suspense until the very end. Ms. Gideon knows just how to tease the reader with her wonderful imagination and ability to create a story. I enjoyed this book completely and I highly recommend it. I give it Five Hearts. Enjoy!
