Stacy Kimball is a Geneticist who works for Harper Research. Stacy has spent her life trying to find a cure for blood diseases; her mother had died from aids due to being stuck by a needle while working as a nurse. Stacy put all her energies into her research. She didn't have time for things like love, a husband or children. But when Stacy meets Louis Redman, her heart starts to beat to a new need, a longing for something more.

Her friend Charlie, who works at the morgue, calls Stacy concerning a body that had been brought in. The blood samples were showing some very strange cell patterns and he knew Stacy would want to see them. Stacy is excited when she sees the test results with the blood samples. She may have found the cure for cell repair. There was one hitch; the cure was in the blood of the killer. Stacy investigation leads her to Louis Redman's door. Could he be the killer?

Louis Redman is a wealthy importer and philanthropist. He is the town's own answer to Howard Huges and a very private person. The police had questioned him in regards to the victim, as she was last seen at a fundraiser that Louis had backed. Louis knew of Stacy through her research in genetics and hoped to have her work on a project that is very important to him. Louis hoped she would find the cure he needed to live again. He didn't expect to be attracted to Stacy; he had closed his heart to love after losing two mortal wives. Louis would not love again until he could truly live once more. But Louis is drawn to Stacy like a moth to a flame.

Stacy's experiments cause an unwanted complication in the form of a man called Frank Cobb. Military trained, he becomes Stacy's watch dog for her boss.

Stacy suspects there is more to Louis than meets the eye. All though, what the eyes saw didn't hurt one bit. He has some very strange habits, like not going out in the sun and she is shocked when she finds Louis casts no reflection in a mirror. What kind of a creature is Louis Redman? Is he even human? The murder victims had been drained of their blood, could Louis be a Vampire? Stacy's mind and heart are fighting for control. Her heart says Louis wasn't a murder, but his blood sample told a different story.

As the evidence mounts against Louis, Stacy will have to choose between facts and her heart. Louis knows the killer is a ghost from his past, full of rage and hatred who is bent on revenge and won't stop until he destroys everything Louis holds dear.

This is truly a masterful piece of writing. Stacy and Louis love story is as passionate and romantic as Mark Antony and Cleopatra. The love scene at the end of this book will have you pulling out the tissues to dry your eyes; it is so tender and passionate. Frank Cobb is another strong character in this story. He's the kind of man that gets things done and I can't help but wonder if he will have a story of his own someday. Nancy Gideon's love story is the kind you never get tired of. I recommend you get Ms Gideon's book and experience her work for yourself. You'll be glad you did. I give her Five Hearts. Enjoy!
