Having been through some rough times in her past, Abby Sinclair believes she can trust no one. Plus, that rule makes her job as an assassin that much easier. However, during her latest mission in Columbia she does something totally unexpected -- she blows her cover to protect a bunch of young girls being sold for sex in an underground trafficking ring.

Kane Woodland as a deadly mercenary is the right man for any job. So when he's hired to get Abby out of the hands of a psychopath, he doesn't pass up the opportunity. Succeeding in her rescue, Kane becomes drawn into Abby's plan to rescue the young girls from their fate even knowing that it may be a suicide mission.

This book is the start of a new series for Ms. Kennedy, and what a great start it is. Action, suspense, adventure and romance are intertwined superbly to create a wonderful plot that was well-written. The dialogue was extremely intense, and definitely drew me in with the developing relationship between Kane and Abby. And considering Abby found it hard to trust anyone it was evident that Kane managed to break through her barriers quite easily. The sex scenes were red hot in illustrating the growing attraction these two had from the moment they met. What I liked so much about Abby was her determination to help the young girls from being sold and that she would go to any length to make sure they weren't sold. While with Kane, I liked that he was able to break through Abby's barriers and show her that she can trust someone.

Overall, this was an amazing book with a great heroine and hero not to mention secondary characters who bought their own back stories to the surface; making for future novels in this series to be written by this author, which I look forward to reading.
