Singer Rosa hasn't forgotten Vane, a Watcher, the strong, sexy warrior who comforted her after her two best friends nearly died at the hands of a drug dealer. She hoped she'd see him again and does. When she starts receiving roses and notes, she believes they are from him.

Rosa hasn't left Vane's mind since the night her friends nearly died and she helped to get rid of the human bodies. Their first date is wonderful, until rogue vampires attack them. Vane feels his life is not for Rosa, putting her in path of danger by being with him is not what he wants for her.

Passion can't be denied. Danger surrounds them as a stalker draws closer to Rosa and Vane's duties as a Watcher increase as more rogues flock to the area, he helps to patrols.

Vane is loveable, he loves women and food, but meeting Rosa has him confused by his feelings. Rosa is a singer and no shrinking violet though the attack on her friends left her reeling. When it comes down to it, she fights back.

Midnight Rose is book 2 of D. McEntire's The Watchers series. This novel pretty much starts were the first left off, which thrilled me. However, this novel easily stands alone. It's exciting, sexy, and highly entertaining. I love all the characters and how D. McEntire teases the reader with what will obviously be future stories. Rayne and Tank for instance. Rayne in particular leaves the reader with a few questions that I hope will be answered with his story. There is action, suspense, and extremely sensual love scenes that are sure to raise a few temperatures and all well written, much to my delight. I'm eager to read the next installment.
