Along The Way - Janet Mills
Elinore Randall is on her way to San Francisco to visit her gravely ill father. On the stagecoach the company of Nick Lachlan and his dog. Nick is a rancher who had almost been blinded by an accident is now making the trip to San Francisco in hopes that a doctor there can restore his sight.

As the trip progresses Nick and Elinore become close and though she hopes he will get his sight back she also fears that once he can really see how plain she is he will soon loose interest in her.

When they reach San Francisco they part ways, and Elinore feels that she had seen the last of the Scotsman.

A touching story that has the reader wanting to see these two souls find that happiness they seek. Well written and simply a short story about romance.

Confulence By Krisiti Mc Caffrey
Elise Wingate was walking along the river when she's frightened by a snake and starts running. Not looking where she is going she runs into Taggart Mason, knocking him over and twisting her ankle in the process. Taggart was a loner and here in his little world he had found peace and contentment. Here in this wilderness is where Elise had come to lay the ashes of her father who loved this land also.

Taggart helps Elsie to his cabin where she can rest her ankle. Here in this lost world it's as if they are the only two people, much like Adam and Eve. Elise finds the love she never thought possible. But soon the longing for her old life returns and Elise leaves Taggart's world to go back to her own. He doesn't stop her and feels that maybe it's the best for them both.

A very sensual story that gives us two people who meet under unusual circumstances and find that life can be perfect even in an isolated corner of the world. The characters touch the readers hearts and they almost reach out to you from the pages of the book.

Wild Flower by Chancie Love
Elizabeth and Rich Adams are on their way to try to find evidence that might tell them who really killed Wild Bill Hickock. In an old room in the museum they find an old dairy. Though pages are missing the moment Elizabeth touches the cover she is transported back in time to the exact day that Hickock is killed. She becomes Calamity Jane and Rich takes on the personably of his great, great uncle. It's up to Elizabeth to not change history but to save Rich from the fate of Wild Bill and to find out who Wild Flower really is.

A wonderful piece that blends history and romance together and even sheds some light on one of America's historical figures. I hope to see more of this author's works.

Essie by Chancie Love
The rain is pouring and Essie looks out the window waiting for her husband to return. She paces as she tried to keep the baby quiet, praying that he will walk through the door any moment. Suddenly she hears the wagon and runs out to greet him. Her fears are all gone and as he grabs her and places her beside him on the wagon they make their way back to the house.

But that was a long time ago and Essie is no longer that young woman who sat in the wagon. Her memory of present day is gone and all that's left are those moments when she was young. A poignant story of how memories that live on and love never dies.
