On a 3.5 million dollar yacht in the middle of the Florida Intercostal waterway, a beautiful, albeit naked, man jumps on board and asks for a towel. For Carol Sue Morgan, a pastry chef-in-training, this is the last thing she thought she would have to deal with. With some quick thinking, she offers the odd man her apron and he promptly exits the boat just as he entered. A few days later, an envelope arrives with 200 dollars and a note on the King of Hearts card signed only by the letter "M," which the captain informs her is short for "Maverick".

Two years later, Carol Sue's life has changed dramatically. She has slightly changed her name, let her hair go back to its natural color, and has opened a bakery in her hometown in Missouri. She delivers a batcholorette cake to an office building and overhears about a romantic break-up. Carol Sue is all too familiar with lost loves and nasty break-ups and is unwilling to lose her heart again, but she is on the lookout for the perfect man for her cousin. The man going through this breakup would be perfect to fix up with her cousin, if she can only convince him of it. But something about him reminds her of someone.

Matt Granger runs a copper mining and product company and the LAST thing he wants is to deal with is his now ex-girlfriend's rant. When he notices Carol something triggers a memory, but he knows they have never met. He also knows she will be perfect for a little spy-job he needs done. All he needs to do is convince her to help him save his company from a disreputable competitor. After all, he has to live up to his family obligations of being a "maverick."

A little intrigue, a little romance, and a lot of fun. Matt is strong, compelling and a great mix of compassion and forcefulness. Carol Sue is a free spirit with strong roots. Together they make a good couple into a great story! Highly Recommended!
