| Aerdyn has been exiled from his Seelie lands for a crime he knows he hadn’t committed. Locked away on a snowbound mountain, where only his remaining magic keeps him alive, he is condemned to a slow and lingering expiration as he is prevented from accessing his magical homeland. Accused of killing his one true love, the Unseelie princess Ellian, Aerdyn believes he can never return, nor can he ever recover Ellian.
A wanderer on the mountain reveals to him that although Ellian is deceased in the flesh, her magic and her spirit lives on in Ellian’s younger brother Lian. Now he can deny his love Ellian or redirect his love for her to Lian, who carries Ellian’s true substance. Will Ellian’s love through Lian reclaim and protect Aerdyn? Or will it be only a trap to force him into the wiles of Ellian’s true killer? Michael Barnette weaves a touching and heartwringing story of Seelie and Unseelie, bound to remain apart yet bonded by love and heartbreak. Although this is not promoted as a specifically Halloween season release, this reviewer found it particularly appropriate at this holiday. The m/m sensuality is explicit but not sufficiently graphic to be offensive to most readers.
