| Brandon is a secret agent who’s starting to wonder if the company she works for isn’t experimenting on her. They have a machine that gets the information directly from her brain, and she has a feeling it’s taking more than just information, especially since there are some large gaps in her memory. Because of her suspicions, she tries to refuse to go on the next mission, but her partners won’t let her back away. In the name of partnership they will drag her along by force if they have to, so she decides to go along. Brandon is reluctant for another reason… its torture being with her partner Kahl every day, she’s wildly attracted to him and he seems to barely notice her. This time won’t be any different, will it?
This has a lot of action, and Brandon gives as good as she gets from the men in the story. It’s violent and fast paced, to the point that sometimes I found myself having to go back and re-read passages because I’d lost the thread of the story. Even though it had a lot of action in it, I thought it took too long to get to the point of the story because it kept loosing my attention. I also had a problem with the fact that she seemed to fall so easily into other men’s arms, because if she really cared about Kahl I wouldn’t think that she would do that. She is a tough, no nonsense woman though, so I suppose it fit her character. I think that if you like the darker side of detective novels that you would definitely like Mind Games, because the plot keeps twisting and turning, and you are never really sure who the bad guy is.
