The Misfits is the fourth in the Trueblood series by Ms. Elborg but is a fantastic stand alone novel. It's a wonderfully delightful story with lots of action, laughs and sex. The story was fast paced with great flow but never choppy or disjointed. The storyline had me laughing at the expense of the characters who were very well developed. The story had all the elements that one appreciates in a ménage story, particularly, the author's ability to establish and sustain a relationship with three diverse personalities. Dominic is a true alpha with a past that drives him to help an emotionally and physically damaged Jay. As expected they fall in love but not all is as it should be as they're each hiding parts of their past. Then they meet Holly, whose bubbly personality is exactly what they need to overcome their respective emotional traumas. I loved Dominic, Jay and Holly and the developmental arch of their characters as their relationship helped heal their various emotional traumas.

There were some aspects of the novel which I didn't understand but they were minor. Although, I am not sure whether it's because those things were not adequately explained or whether this was something she has explained in another book in the series. Nonetheless, Ms. Elsborg has a winner on her hands with this one and has piqued my interests in the other novels in this series. This was a truly enjoyable read and I will be reading the other novels in the Trueblood series.
