| Mist Of The Heart is the story of Cainbre and Maverick. Maverick came to know Cainbre when she was a small child. She had been picked on and beaten by the other children in the village because of her small size. She endeared herself to him due to the fact that although she was smaller, she always fought back and never gave up. He vowed he would always take care of her no matter what. She believed him and grew to love him. All of that changed when he left to become trained as a Hunter. The Hunters sought the Kilimari, a humanoid race that was feared for having great psychic power. In this story Cainbre and Maverick meet again after many years. Maverick is afraid that Cainbre does not want anything to do with him because he left her, but is there some other reason?
Mist of The Hearts is a very original story. It takes place on a strange planet with unusual plants and creatures. April Robinson does a wonderful job bringing it to life through her descriptive writing. The emotions of the characters are portrayed well through the telling of the story. You'll be drawn into the story through the characters thoughts and feelings. You'll understand what motivates Maverick to become a Hunter and his fear of the Kilimari. You will also grow to understand why Cainbre does not like the Hunters and why she feels betrayed by Maverick's leaving. The plot is uncomplicated and all aspects are fully developed. The writing is fluid and the reading is fast paced. The dialogue between the characters is organized and easily followed. There is a moral to the story, but the story is well written and enjoyable even without worrying about the social implications. I feel this is a good story and look forward to more books by this author. For all the above stated reasons I give, Mist Of the Hearts, five hearts.
