Aislinn Hennessy has had one failed relationship after the other; she has long given up on her knight in shining armor appearing to sweep her off her feet and she no longer believes in true love. But when she nearly runs over a dark, broad shouldered, gorgeous man, dressed like a sixteenth century lord, maybe she has given up to soon.

Sir Dougray Fitzpatrick, Lord of Dunhaven is not looking for a wife; he has already buried one, and does not wish to love again. But when it is foretold that he will travel to the future and that he will bring a female back with him, who could possibly be his soul mate, he does not realize this female will fight him at every turn. Dougray finds Aislinn fearless in battle but she shies away from any emotional connection. Although Aislinn finds herself attracted to Dougray, as she has never been attracted to another and she finds him to be a brave honest man, she cannot see how a future could work for them.

When they are swept through a magical mist back to the sixteenth century, where violence and feuds are common, they discover things that neither one expects and find a possible chance for true love.

I have to say, this is a great story. This is the first book I have read by Karen Michelle Nutt, but it will definitely not be the last. It was a well-written, emotional story that I could not put down. Aislinn is such a strong character, that you just have to love and Dougray is a very stubborn, guilt ridden, caring man. This story has it all, love, mystery, murder and suspense. I hope there will be more to come, maybe Connor’s story?
