| This is the story of April Lyons and RC Jones. April works as a dominatrix for a company called Kinky Kruising. RC is a cowboy who was out drinking for the evening with his sister and brother-in-law and they put something in his drink that made him pass out. The next morning RC wakes up having no idea where he is. Standing in front of him is a woman with red hair in a bikini and leather boots holding a black crop. She tells RC to lick her toes. RC thought he was hallucinating. The woman said she was Mistress April. RC's hands were bound. RC thought his sister and brother-in-law had put April up to this. RC thought his drink had tasted funny. April kept referring to him as Slave. April kept striking RC with her crop. A questionnaire had been filled out for RC indicating he liked spanking, biting, tickling his feet and being told he's a bad boy. As RC was led to his room he realized they were moving. The man showing the way, Aaron, told him he was on the ship Mistress Mine and they were out to sea. April came up and brought him juice and a plate of food, indicating she would be feeding him breakfast. She told RC he was there for two weeks. April said she was RC's dominatrix for the duration. RC could leave if he chose to but he would forfeit the money paid if he did leave. RC asked April if she would agree to be his slave if he could get her to fall for him while he was there. The challenge has been tossed out. Who will win?
I loved this story. April and RC are both very, very strong-willed characters, used to getting their own way. The surprise elements of the story are completely hilarious. I laughed until I cried at several scenes just imagining RC's face when he realizes what's happening and then imagining all hell breaking loose when he decides to do something about it or at least object. The characters of April and RC are beautifully written, very believable and very, very entertaining. There are two other characters who really stand out - Kat who is April's friend and coworker, and Sean Shamrock who is RC's elderly grandfather. Kat and Sean both have pivotal roles in the way the story turns out between April and RC. This story is delightful. It shows all the things that can happen to someone who thinks he knows everything and it shows all the chaos that can result in the life of a person who doesn't handle surprise well. The sensual elements of the story show the explosive heat that occurs between two strong people who have an immediate attraction and all that's needed to feed the attraction is time. I will be reading this book again and again and again. I recommend it to everyone.
