| Deadwood, Dakota Territory 1876. Seth Lucan was riding for his life. Bullets were flying everywhere, he rode his horse into a misty fog next to the Blacksmith's and landed in 2008. Elita LeRue could not believe her eyes when she saw a unknown handsome cowboy ride down the street of her family's Old West reenactment town. Seth loved modern conveniences, flushing toilets, electric lights, and cars. But when the misty fog came back Seth felt he needed to return to Deadwood and in spite of the danger of gunfighters. Elita refused to stay behind.
My favorite part is when Elita and Seth go back to Deadwood 1876. Deadwood was mostly saloons and old warped clapboard buildings. The author filled the town with some very colorful characters, mostly men with a few "sporting girls" added. The most famous character was "Wild Bill Hickok", who was Elita's great great great grandfather. She knew when his murder would happen and wanted to do everything she could to prevent it. Despite growing feelings, Elita feels obligated to return to 2008. The story has few unexpected twists and turns to keep the story interesting.
