Danger comes at them from every direction until the final outcome. But will Ashley, who is certain she means nothing to Hero, forgive him to lying about his job? At the same time, what about Hero's doubts about Ashley's feelings for him?
I loved this delightful book. The mystery/suspense is well set up, keeping the reader on edge all the way through. The author reveals the facts of the mystery bit by bit, with the tension increasing all the way through the story line. The characters are well drawn and their misinterpretation and doubts about each other's purposes make their reactions to each other logical. The romance builds gradually and, of course, it undergoes plenty of trials and tribulations, both from the aspect of the criminal hunting them, and their own activities. Ashley is feisty and, in her determination to save her father, a kidnap victim of Perez, nearly causes her and Hero's demise. The author has done a good job with the settings, putting the reader right in with the characters and the story. However, the book could benefit from grammatical tightening. The love scenes are yummy, well done, and fully believable, and the reader pulls for these two all the way through. This is the first time I've read anything by this author, but it certainly won't be the last.
