After her father’s decease, Raina of Watauga is to marry King Ulrik. Since her father was a general for the King, the marriage is one that will offer her great provisions. First she must make a path to Tansai, so packing her belongings, along with her handmaids and guards; she sets forth on the trip. King Ulrik chooses Simeon Fane, one of his scouts, to take a group of scouts to go and meet Raina, making sure her trip is a safe one. Unbeknownst to any of them, after Simeon greets the party and informs why they have arrived, the traveling party happens to be attacked in the woods by rebels. Simeon was certain the person he had grabbed was Raina’s handmaid, Mayda, or at least he thought it was as he carries her into a cave while they await rescue. Neither knew that the time they would end up spending together would turn into a heated passion that would practically consume them so strongly it would be hard to escape the unwavering love they felt for the other.

Moment of Chance is a delightful read with interesting characters that keep the pages turning. I loved the way Simeon sought to give Raina protection and their chemistry has a way of allowing the reader to sense what they undergo. Aurelia Abbot stirs a passionate enchanting read. There were times this reader could almost visualize and feel the presence of the traveling party, their horses, the attack and all the sensations stirring about in the air. With wonderful dialogue, this warm romance leaves the reader with an awe.
