Mona Lisa battles to stay alive, especially after a gargoyle abducts her. It is there she begins to feel something for Gryphon. Prince Halcyon knows Mona Lisa is his mate so dives into hell to find his love and bring her home. Things become complicated when Halcyon arrives, only to discover Gryphon having strong desires for her as well. Could they both be her mate? It is a choice that has Mona Lisa wondering if she will make the right one.
I must say the description of the people; even the demons drew me into this story of Mona Lisa Darkening. Even during the moment with the angry creature, I could almost hear the sound of the high-pitched shrieking. I found the moment touching when she discovers she has two caring souls coming to her rescue. Sunny knows how to pen a good story that is quite visual to this reader. The well-rounded secondary characters add just the right zest to the storyline, enhancing the main players. The demons know how to send chills down the readers back, too. It was truly intense, especially when Mona Lisa was carried into the eerie darkness, leaving her people wondering what is happening when she vanishes. I found that a convincing scene in itself. With great flare, and the perfect twist, this story engages the reader and asks for more.
