| Meghan O'Connor was given the role of mother when her brother Kyle and his wife died in an accident. She purchased the Sliver Tip Ranch in Montana feeling that it was the perfect place for little Ryan and Katie to have a normal childhood. Perfect was not the word Burke O'Connor, Meghan's father, would use. His idea was for Meghan to forget her foolishness and return back east and find a suitable husband to take care of her and the children. There was always another gentleman arriving at the ranch seeking Meghan's hand and promptly sent back east with a message to her father telling him to let her lead her own life. When Burke O'Connor froze her funds it only made Meghan more determined to make Silver Tip a profitable ranch.
It was then that Travis Knight came into her life, seeking a job as foreman of the ranch. A part time rodeo rider and a good one he was in need of money at the present and Meghan had to admit he had a way with the horses and the men seem to respect his authority. It wasn't long before the two little ones found Travis a regular member at the mealtime table and felt comfortable with him around. When Burke O'Connor tried by using the courts to take the children from Meghan, it was Travis' idea to marry her. In name only of course, a business deal. He would save the children from being taken from her and also would do his best to make her ranch profitable. After a year Travis would once again be on his way and Meghan would have the children and her ranch safely protected. What Meghan and Travis hadn't planned on was that love somehow found it's way into their hearts. Or maybe it was there all along just needed a gentle shovel to make them realize it. The author takes us into the world of Meghan O'Connor and we find ourselves seeing how a handsome Travis Knight has changed her life. She doesn't seem to notice that it's not gratitude she's feeling, but love. She had to have felt something when all the other gentlemen her father had sent to ask for her hand were promptly turned away. It's Travis that she seems to want closer, to help, to lean on, to perhaps even love. Maybe she was waiting for that one man to come along that sometimes only happens once in a lifetime, and Traivs was the man. I love stories that seem to bring back the romance that really classifies a book as a romance and Montana Bride gives this to the reader. One can get so lost in the world of Meghan O'Connor and make the ole phrase of love at first sight no matter how long it takes to come to the surface.
