Lucy Mitchell is a teacher who spends her summers as a counselor and is prepared to do whatever it takes to protect the Moonlight Bay Camp for Kids. The camp has been a safe haven for her and she intends to keep it open for generations to come. Ian Flynn is a wealthy developer who plans on buying the summer camp and turning it into a fashionable upscale community. He thinks it's a done deal. But while in Wisconsin, he finds himself surrounded by the things that annoy him most -- children, dogs, and elderly women. Most annoying of all, an aggressive woman with an agenda who brings him unexpected emotional upheaval.

I enjoyed this sweet read. Real-life situations were handled with drama and humor, laughter, and sadness. The plot was interesting with some very unexpected twists that kept me glued to the pages. I enjoyed the setting with its small town values and the summer camp wasn't too cliched. Most of the characters were vibrant, real and believable, but I did find a few that were a bit stereotypical. I love that Ian and Lucy are both stubborn and very similar despite their differences. The conflict was well written and believable; it's conclusion wasn't too pat. I am a sucker for a happy ending and this novel did not disappoint. I look forward to reading more from this author.
