Connor gets the surprise of his life when an unconscious woman drops out of thin air and into his lap. Aislinn is severely injured by the hand of her abusive husband. When she wakes to find herself in Ashton Grove she can’t believe it. Ashton Grove is from a novel that she was reading before her husband came home. How can she be here and who is Conner, the man caring for her and claiming her as his mate?

Sweet with a little spice is how I would describe this story. You will cheer for Aislinn out loud; anyone that has been through what she has deserves a happy ending. Connor makes a perfect "knight in furry armor" for this story. Patient, sweet, determined and devoted are just a few words that pop into mind for him. The one thing I really wished was written into the story is seeing Aislinn’s husband get what’s coming to him. If that had been there it would have been a perfect story.

I wish I had read the previous book in this series; although it was not necessary and did not affect the reading of this one I think I would have felt more comfortable with the secondary characters. The author’s use of the wizard was smart and surprising to see it wasn’t a fairy godmother coming to the rescue. I also liked that Aislinn had to fight for Connor, and raise her self confidence. Altogether a good read.
