| This is the story of Caitlyn Thomas and Jason Maguire. They hadn't seen each other since high school and the 20th reunion was coming up. The reunion was being organized by Leigh Collins, Caitlyn's best friend. Jason had been Caitlyn's first love. They had been teen lovers torn apart - by misunderstanding, Caitlyn's mother's interference and a big secret. Jason was a sex talk-show host on the radio. Caitlyn was a lawyer in New York City. When they were children, Jason's mother Irene had cleaned the Thomas house. Jason's mother Irene was as loving, happy and supportive as Marilyn Thomas, Caitlyn's mother, was critical and judgmental. When she was in high school, Caitlyn had adored Jason. She realized she still did. Since high school, Caitlyn had become a true beauty. She had gone to Yale and become an attorney. Jason had gone to Juilliard and graduated at the top of his class. He had changed his interest from making music to playing music because he found he could earn a lot more money that way.
I loved the characters of Caitlyn and Jason. Their story has all the bittersweet ingredients of a teen love that gets torn apart. Then time passes, a second chance presents itself and everything might turn out differently if the adults involved decide to take a chance on love. There's a sense of genuineness about Caitlyn and Jason's story that will make you feel good. I recommend this book to everyone.
