| Evangeline Simmons is having a hard time with her new life, but she has overcome great obstacles and survived before. She overcame a heroin addiction and survived a brutal kidnapping, so unfriendly stregha and unpredictable powers can be overcome also. She has the support of her brother and his mate Kaine, and her new best friend, the seventeen year old werewolf Cat. She is confused by her feelings for her doctor, the lucani Dane Dimitriou, who is totally gorgeous but a bit stiff, and his best friend Ryan, a human veterinarian, who is warm and laid back. Her life seems destined to be chaotic and dangerous, but things just might be looking up.
I have always really enjoyed the Lucani Lovers series and Evangeline's story may be the best one so far. The author has combined elements of suspense and erotica seamlessly and her characterizations make you forget that there are no such things as werewolves and stregha. I am not so sure anymore. She has created an exciting and dangerous world full of good and evil supernaturals, and characters from previous stories make welcome reappearances. Not all of the issues, problems and dangers from this story are resolved completely, which is actually a good thing, because I will get to read another story soon. This is a welcome addition to a series worth reading and rereading.
