| This story is the continuation of "Moon Of The Sleeping Bear." It picks up with Cord in Iowa in the year 1862. He was wounded during an Indian uprising and escaped to the river. He was later found wounded and unconscious. Once he awakens he does not remember who he is or where he is from. He has nightmares where he mentions the names "Wynter and Fenn." Wynter and Sage travel in this story to the Winnebago village. The Indians have been moved to reservations and those that refused have been attacking settlers. Wynter and Sage will come face to face with a group of renegade Indians. To find out if Cord makes it back home to his wife, Wynter and learn what is to become of Wynter and Sage at the hands of the renegades you must read the book.
Moon of The Long Night is another exciting adventure. In this story there is a death of a main character. This death was heartbreaking and is felt through the grieving of the survivors. Kathryn Bryan does a wonderful job of making the setting come to life. It is the mid 1800's, the Civil War is continuing and the cavalry is busy fighting Indians. Wynter is waiting to hear whether her husband Cord is alive. Dax has returned and knows of his son. He still loves Wynter but the two will not go against her marriage vows. Everyone is waiting to see how it will turn out in the end. This story is an emotional roller coaster. Heartbreak of death, the fear of attack by renegades, anger of love denied, are just a few examples. Wynter and Sage remain strong and fight for what is right. They will face many ordeals in this story and you wonder if they will ever have a time of peace and happiness. It is truly amazing to watch as they handle each of these situations. This story is truly an adventure that can stand alone, but it will be enhanced greatly by reading Moon of the Sleeping Bear which introduces each of the characters and their relationships. Moon of the Long Night is a wonderfully written historical romance that gives the reader a true feeling of the trials many faced as this country expanded and settlers moved westward.
