Wizard Esmenet Sokaris is seeking an assistant who excels in mysterious matters. He will also have to participate in the erotic rituals planned. She needs a man with particular testosterone distributions. Everything about him has to be perfect. As a sorceress she specializes in love spells, and never reveals her hidden desires or deepest secrets. Her status as Gold Wizard grants her much freedom. Gage Feldspar is her answer. He is a proud brown magician with an attractive face and fine physique. He is raring to go for any task. Esmenet lets him know first hand it is strictly business and she only hires unattached assistants. She finds him a good man, but at times a lost cause because he has trouble with alcohol. Of course the more time they work together, the flames of desire build like a spinning tornado, and the two find it almost impossible to keep their distances. As much as he is sometimes considered a loser, Gage is a brave man and will do anything to help Esmenet, especially when things turn chaotic for them. They make powerful potions together but this time it may not work to their advantage.

Moon Shadows is a powerful story of sexual passion, love potions and heated drama that almost lights the entire book with flames. Esmenet is a strong character who stands on her own. Gage comes into play with her and things change in his life. Lucinda Betts certainly knows how to write erotic tales, mixed with some intrigue, along the way that keeps the audience spellbound until the dramatic conclusion. I like the way she pens a story to try to help rape victims and works in the aid of an assistant. Bringing in the police, and other events, puts more depth into the storyline. The way she pits Gage and Esmenet together, as they struggle to keep any interaction happening between them, only makes the story more captivating in this engaging read.
