| When Emily Cline's boss, Gretta Deville, asks her to participate in the Rustler's Roundup charity auction, little does she realize she will be the goods being auctioned off wearing only a black corset, short leather skirt and garters. It isn't until after she's been dressed to participate in the event that she discovers the auction is being held at one of the kinkiest BDSM clubs in the area. Even so, she briefly indulges in her own fantasy about having a Master take control of her, but no way does that mean she desires a complete stranger to punish and have sex with her. And once she witnesses exactly what will happen to her when it's her turn up on the auction stage, all she wants is out, but the Roundup guy refuses to let her leave.
Zach has known Emily since he tutored her in high school, and he has wanted her from the very first day they met, but she always just saw him as a friend. Problem was that Zach was a nice guy. A really nice guy, and Emily needed and wanted someone who would dominant her in the bedroom. This was something that neither of them thought Zach could or would do, but when he receives a frantic phone call from her saying she needs him; he drops everything to go to her aid. To say he's surprised to find her on stage in a sub's sexy outfit would be an understatement. To say he was highly turned on by seeing her dressed that way would be a fact. He's all-too-willing to pay thousands of dollars to free her, only to discover that he can't take her home unless he punishes, then has sex with her in front of the entire rowdy Roundup audience. And that is not something Zach is willing to do, until Emily insists. More Than Friends is a sweet BDSM story. Zach believes what he is being forced to do to Emily will destroy any chance he ever had of a serious relationship with her. Secretly in love with her, he longs to protect Emily and make love to her in private, not public. Though Emily is surprised to discover Zach has wanted her all these years, she is even more surprised to discover Zach's hidden dominant side that frankly turns her on. But will he be willing to continue handling her in the commanding and dominating manner he displays during the Roundup? I did have some difficulty accepting that Rustler's Roundup wouldn't just accept Zach's money and let them go, even if that wasn't the "normal Roundup way" of doing things. I can't imagine there was a legal requirement that required participation, so I was a little taken aback when the auctioneer threatened to have Zach beaten up if he didn't perform as expected. More Than Friends is a learning experience, and Evangeline Anderson does a really good job of showing how two friends, caught in a terribly embarrassing situation, help each other get through it. Accept the premise, and you'll find yourself taking a titillating and fun ride.
