| Gideon Keel is a four hundred year old vampire who, with his partner and lover Jesse Madding, fights abnormal crime in Chicago. Emma Coolidge is an empath who loves them both. In this third book of the series someone is robbing graves. Not only that, every time he steals from a grave some of Jesse’s friend Black John's strength, magic and health is taken from him. The crime fighters have to stop the grave robber and find a way to give John back his powers to save his life.
The writing duo known as Jamie Craig has again built a powerful love story and complex mystery. The characters just keep growing in likeability as Gideon and Jason open their hearts and bodies to Emma and she to both of them. This writing partnership just keeps giving me better and better stories to read about these two investigators and their friends. The writers let Jesse's character as a submissive and caring man takes a new turn with Emma who can also be submissive. Gideon, tough vampire with a history he hates to share in detail, is given added dimensions this time too. The authors do what I think is a great job with the emotions of the characters. Their use of dialogue and scenario build ups are great. It's easy for me to 'see' in my mind's eye the people, the situations, the moods because of their superb use of words. This book just keeps me wanting more and more of this writing duo's work and the crime fighters life and loves. It’s a great read I hated to put down for the mundane things of every day life!
