| Moselle Carson left Platteville twelve years ago. She returned, temporarily, to help her mother and aunt run their new business, Frivolities. Her aunt had been diagnosed with, and was receiving treatment for, Hepatitis C. Moselle left her hometown because of an unfortunately devastating occurrence with her long-time friend and now fiancé, Eric. He dumped her and a short while later married her best friend, Beth, who was pregnant.
Eric Todd was an insurance agent and a volunteer fire fighter in Platteville. After the miscarriage of his child and the divorce from Beth, Eric repented and tried to follow in God’s way. His desire was to be forgiven by Moselle and become a husband and father. He knew a secret that would help her accept him, but it wasn’t his story to tell. He had to leave it for her to find out otherwise. And then Beth returned to town. This is my first experience with Ms. LoRee Peery but I hope it will not be my last. She has a distinct way of writing which absolutely gripped my attention. Her characters are dynamic, vibrant people who love God and, previously had loved each other. This book is a full-length novel which delved into the characters more deeply than shorter stories. She carried us through their deepest depths of despair and their ultimate times of joy. Ms. Peery’s secondary characters are also clearly defined. It gives the impression that we, the readers, are there inside the novel with them. Her views on Christianity and serving God are presented in a concise, understandable way which an unbeliever could read and enjoy. She gets her point across without being overly preachy. I highly recommend this book by Ms. Peery. It will certainly be a hit and is written so that anyone can read it. Look for this author to obtain high recognition.
