This is Gavin Dimarco's story. He talks about his job at The Los Angeles Times and how it funded his home. Like many writers, he admits he prefers being around people he creates rather than people he meets face-to-face. And yet he knows that if he wants to meet the girl of his dreams, one day he's going to have to get out there and start looking.

But how does a man who writes for a newspaper by day, and creates best-sellers by night, find time or the know-how to do that? A man, moreover, who's favourite TV program is Most Eligible.

When his agent and friend persuades Gavin to sign up for the TV dating program he does it, to boost his book sales rather than find a life-long partner. But fate intervenes and before he steps onto the TV set he meets Aislinn and knows instantly he's met the girl of his dreams.

The author's fluent writing style makes this an easy read. The plot lacks depth but still engages the reader enough to want to know how the characters finally get together.

The story is written in first person, Gavin's point of view, and the author creates a believable and sympathetic character, one the reader can empathise with and root for. If there is a certain amount of sympathy for his sense of isolation, at the same time the reader can't help feeling a little vexed that Gavin doesn't make more effort to get himself out of his self-acknowledge rut.

Ms. Ordone's heroine, Aislinn, comes across as charming, sympathetic and gentle. Just the right heroine for our worthy author, with the right amount of 'spine' when faced with a dilemma. The author then skilfully sets traps and obstacles for her hero and heroine, one of which is totally unexpected and ramps up the suspense. The impact of Gavin's story stays with you long after the reader has turned the last page.
