Fianna (Fee) Meadows is a Fae who has lost her powers. It wasn’t her fault really, she just believed her domineering, abusive uncle and he led her into an unforgivable betrayal. The Faerie Court’s queen banished her to life as a mortal and Greg Novak, a werewolf shifter friend of her former employer, is her keeper. She works in the bar owned by Greg and his brother George. Someone out there is killing werewolf families. Someone else is selling addictive drugs to Fae, shifters, wizards, witches and even humans. All the paranormals of Detroit are going to have to work together if they want to survive. Motor City Wolf is Book 3 in the Urban Arcane series. You don’t have to read the first two books to enjoy this story but I would recommend it simply because it is a very entertaining and well written series. I think you’ll enjoy them more if you read them all. Fee is trying to adjust to being human while she learns to live with the attraction she feels for Greg. Add in the attempts on their lives and all the magical dangers, it’s a total wonder how she copes with upheaval in her life without the Fae powers she had always depended on. Greg is subject to the typical purity concerns of werewolves mating out of their own kind while dealing with the daily threats on his pack and others around them. It was interesting to watch how these two got involved at all with everything falling apart around them. Very well written. The secondary characters that run through the series also have their individual biases and mistrusts and seeing how this richly diverse group finds a common ground and succeeds is inspiring is fun. The story moves quickly and gets you involved from the very beginning. As much as I wanted the dangerous situation to be resolved, I didn’t want it to end. I really liked all the characters in this series. This is a keeper for me.
