In 1943, the country is in turmoil; the war in Europe was taking a toll on its military. Jason Borseau was only 22 years old and he was one of the most revered pilots in Europe. He and his crew have flown 14 successful missions with only a few scrapes to mark them. But their next one will forever change his life.

In 1943, 14-year-old Kathryn Whittaker finds out the hard way that the person most affected by divorce is usually the child. The stigma that her parents have cast on her, the inability to cope with people that used to be friends but are now tormentors, have made Kathryn turn away from her parents. She begins a journey to her grandparents; forever estranging herself from her parents. On the way to her grandmother's she encounters a young officer, obviously battle worn and mentally scarred, who helps her on her trip away from her parents. Without knowing his name and only having a handkerchief as a reminder, the officer maintained a place in her heart and in her dreams, forever.

After years of abusing alcohol to help dull the pain of his last mission in Germany, the mission that not only killed most of his crew but scarred him, Jason wakes up to find himself married to a child-abusing psycho. Doing the only thing he can do to protect his son he leaves her and files for divorce. His work as a radio-broadcasting executive at radio station KCOY in Yuma, Arizona is the only sane thing in his life. Until the "man" KCOY hired turns out to be a woman.

Kathryn Whittaker decides to leave her live in a convent to try and find out what the world holds for her. Accepting a job at a radio station in Arizona, Kathryn starts on another life-changing journey. She becomes one of the pioneer female radio broadcasters and this puts her in the limelight, and in the line of sight of mysterious people that will stop at nothing until Jason is destroyed.

A murder. A kidnapping. A love that time cannot kill. And killers who will try again and again to rip Jason and Kathryn apart forever. This book is enthralling in its emotional aspects, brilliant in its love story, and extremely thrilling with the mystery. This book is a who-done-it that keeps you guessing until the very end. GREAT!! Highly Recommended.
