Ms. Jacobs does a fantastic job of bringing Kurt and Shelly to life. This is a beautiful book that evokes an emotional response from the readers. You witness their inner turmoil, the love, the passion and most of all, their friendship. Kurt's struggle to find the right balance between his patients and his family, while shelly fights her inner turmoil to support Kurt and his son, while trying not only to be his wife but also to become his true love. Both main characters live and breathe; their sexuality is vivid and strong and leaps off the pages. A highly recommended read.
