| Lisa and Tony are accountants; partners in their own firm. They were, once upon a time also lovers. Somehow, somewhere, they grew apart and began to date others. Now Sex is something different from Love and that occurs between them still occasionally, especially around tax time. All those yummy numbers are to an accountant aphrodisia.
Enter Gianni Loren, gorgeous billionaire and fun loving to boot; the eternal playboy. His desire to have their firm handle his business matters in New York will be a massive jolt of prestige for their firm and much appreciated in terms of future business connections. But he does seem to also be interested in Lisa. The problem actually stems from the fact that Lisa still loves Tony. Their rules created a couple of years before were based on fragile ground; their dating others had been the result of the feeling of growing apart in their personal livesthat special something wasnt there anymore. But discussion was never a part of the deal. Lisa just felt that Tony had fallen out of love with her and so the rules slowly came to be; no kissing, no dating, nothing that might make one think that they were a pair. And the situation has caused such pain over the years. She views her situation much like classic literature --Sisyphus and his pushing the boulder up the hill; making little progress and then losing any made by that boulder rolling back down. A never ending struggle hoping that Tony might one day realize that he does love her. And to top that all off, everyone who knows them seems to think theyll someday tie the knot, and arent afraid to constantly bring the painful question up. This was a very enjoyable story. You feel so for Lisa and Tony, knowing full well that they do care but just arent able to give in and talk to each other, letting inhibitions stand in the way. Gianni is just the catalyst needed
