| Regan O'Connell is traveling in Italy for ten days. Normally a strict
workaholic, she's excited to be spending time in such a beautiful
country. However, she runs into trouble when she tries to take a train
to Venice. After spilling her purse in front of an extremely sexy
younger man, she catches him looking at the book she had in the purse.
The book is no ordinary romance novel though; it's a novel about
bondage and testing one's sexual limits. She thought her humiliation
was over when she got on the train, but soon the stranger shows up
holding her passport that she didn't grab. He introduces himself as
Giovanni and before she knows what's happening, they are having wild
sex in the train compartment. Giovanni touches a sexual longing that
Regan has had all her life; a longing that she has never felt free
enough to exploit. In Italy though, it seems as if that freedom is
finally in her grasp.
Giovanni knew the moment he laid eyes on Regan at the ticket booth that he had to have her. He proposes that they spend one night together in bed where all of her fantasies can come to life. Regan dreams of a dominant man taking her and subjugating her to his will. She craves obedience even as her own strong and forceful personality balks at being a man's plaything. Giovanni wants to show her that her two sides can coexist, that what she craves is just as important in life as her devotion to her career. But will their one night be enough for either of them? Has Giovanni, a man used to showing as many women as he can the benefits of a wonderful lover, met his match in the fierce Regan? My Carina is a fantastic look at a woman's discovery of true sexual gratification and sharing. Regan has always been afraid of allowing a lover like Giovanni into her heart, for fear that she would lose herself in his will, but as their passionate night unwinds, she learns that it is possible to have both: sexual thrills and a fulfilling life. Reese Gabriel pens a beautiful awakening of the heart and of the body for both Regan and Giovanni. Though he's the teacher, Giovanni learns more in Regan's arms than he ever thought possible. She's not like the women he's used to and he finds that he just may have met his match. This is truly a spectacular D/s novel, definitely on par with Reese Gabriel's previous books. It is intense in its sexual exploits, but it has a loving foundation that will keep readers hooked until the very end. Giovanni may seem like the stereotypical Italian lover, but beneath the surface, he is a warm and vibrant character with an artist's passion for life and a truly enormous heart. My Carina is a sweet treat for your summertime reading.
