| The night before Noah leaves his hometown of Mountain View, he gets drunk with his best friend Lucas Wesson. During his drunken stupor he passionately kisses his best friend and then the next thing he remembers is waking up in his own bed. Upset, unable to remember most of the night before, worried about how Lucas will feel about him now that he knows he is gay and has made a move on him, and unable to face that fact himself, he runs. He leaves that morning without a word of goodbye to anyone. He cuts off all ties with his hometown, including Lucas.
Five years later, Noah appears in Lucas’ diner. Lucas has been through a lot in the past five years, a marriage, divorce, a child and running his own business. He's been through it all without the help and support of his best friend. The moment Noah sees Lucas all the love he felt for him five years ago comes rushing back. Is their any hope for these two friends or has time and circumstances changed them both too much to ever go back? Pepper Espinoza has written a spicy tale of two friends fighting for the love they could share. I found Noah at times rather cowardly, but he was such a likeable character. His answer to hard problems seemed to be run, but thankfully by the end he figured out running was not always the answer. Lucas was definitely the strong one. I loved this character for being so well written and real. I believe, however, that Lily made this story with her sweet innocence and acceptance. I would highly recommend this one. It has it all, love, steamy sex between two equally steamy men and the sweetest child.
