Jax's sex drive is perpetually in overdrive. His bonded mate deserted him six years ago, leaving him without any way to satisfy his need for her. But he has bigger issues on his mind now, like finding Lorran, Cayenne's sister. The Matriarch Flame has assigned him this mission. Lorran is in danger and Jax has to find her and protect her, particularly from two Time Keepers. It leads him to a cruise ship where he finds Crystal, his bonded mate, working as a massage therapist. But Crystal also has her mission, and her own agenda concerning Jax. She left him for two reasons, one personal and one not.

Mystic Keepers 2: Crystal is the second book in the series and can be read as a stand-alone, though some things won't entirely be understood without the first.

I admit, the story by itself is primarily about sex (which is hot for erotic romance lovers out there), but the series as a whole seems to be a bit more. The central plot so far is about the Time Master and whatever plans he has for the daughters of two Flame Keepers (Cayenne and Lorran). As for this Mystic Keepers book, it continued the story of the first with a set of new characters, and left a lot undisclosed for another story. Jax and Crystal were highly sexual characters and it was shown. Being apart for six years didn't help any, either. I can't say I felt a lot of romance or love, but there was a lot of emotion between the characters. Frustration and longing being just two. Mystic Keepers 2: Crystal is a fairly short story, but I enjoyed reading it. It was a book to pass the time away with, and because the plot was very straightforward and the pace quick, I had no trouble getting into it or finishing it.
