| Miranda is a famous therapist and mystic. A client slips her a ring imprinted with visions of murders. Enforcer Drake O’Bannon is assigned to protect her life, but Drake wants nothing to do with mystics. It doesn’t matter to him that she’s the perfect woman for him. He refuses to trust someone that makes their living reading peoples’ minds. When she proves her abilities, she awakens blazing desires in Drake, but his priority is her safety, not sexual satisfaction. Temptation turns to burning hot passion, but it could end quickly as they are surrounded by danger.
Dangerous, tumultuous, passionate and attention-grabbing are just a few words that initially come to mind after reading this book. Mystic is a very satisfying fourth chapter in this series. Ms. Ross has created an out of the ordinary but remarkable setting. The different societies that make up this world are full of interesting characters and varying lifestyles. While this book is part of a series, it may also be read as a stand-alone. But to get more background into Miranda you would need to read the prior books. Miranda and Drake’s characters are fully-developed and appealing. The situation they find themselves in will have the reader on the edge of their seat until the very end. There are so many twists and turns that the reader will not have time to even think of getting bored. Phenomenal support characters round out the crew, including Drake’s brother Jericho, who ramped the heat factor in this book up another couple of notches.
