| Rachel Cooke and Scott Radar met at a bar where Scott realized he was talking to himself next to a beautiful woman. They ended up spending the night in her room at the Hilton naked talking and not having sex (then). Both had problems with relationships but were immediately drawn to the other. Scott was stood up by Carol and Rachel was taking a breather from her hectic life.
Rachel and her friend Chloe were performing at her uncle’s club filling in for his usual entertainment. Known as CC and Cooke, their manager had been Rachel’s significant other until he found out she was biracial. He was black but prided himself on having a white girlfriend. He had moved on to her friend Chloe until Rachel became enamored with Scott. Then Lester, their agent and abusive boyfriend, decided he would find them work far away from Scott Radar. Dee Dawning wrote a great story but the only problem I had with the book was that it was almost cover-to-cover sexual scenes. Now I realize this is not a bad thing. Believe me, I enjoy reading sensual love scenes. However, it was hard to pull the storyline from the book because of the frequency and intensity of the sex. Nevertheless, there is a great story involved; I just had to dig for it. This book is definitely not for the faint of heart. There are extremely graphic sex scenes, ménages, same sex encounters, and everything else you might want in a sexually explicit book. The myriad of problems with Lester, their agent, were constantly causing more grief. The book was written in both points of view (he said—she said) and, often, from more than the two main characters. I’ve not read anything written in the manner previously, but it was not bad. There was a totally unexpected ending to the book. The actions taken by all the characters created an accounting of love at first sight and intense love shared times three. This book was one which I would recommend for those who appreciate explicit manuscripts that sizzle and pop with electricity.
