At age sixteen, Bel had the worst day of her life. In fact, she nearly lost her life. She also fell in love that day and ten years later she still loves, Brody, her knight in shining armor. But she believes Brody thinks of her more as a little sister and will never see her as the grown woman she has become.

After saving Bel, Brody quit his job as a policeman and worked to build a successful business and to stay away from her. Ten years later, he's still fighting to stay away from the one woman he has loved since that horrible day, Bel. With the help of his best friend and lover Callum he has managed to do it, so far. But when Bel’s attacker is let out of prison, he will do anything to keep her safe. But will he be too late? Can he find a way to have it all, both Bel and Callum, the two people he loves most? Or must he sacrifice one love for the other?

I have read several books by Carol Lynne and have loved them all and none of them have disappointed me -- including this one. Ms. Lynne has a way of drawing the reader into the action and making them feel every emotion, every feeling that her characters struggle through. She also has a way of keeping her male characters, strong, believable, and yet vulnerable. I loved Brody and Callum, together they are the perfect pair. Bel is tough, yet sweet and made for the two of them. The author keeps the reader anxiously turning the pages, hoping Brody can save his woman in time and not lose his man in the process. This one would not be for the faint of heart, as it deals with rape, incest and attempted murder. I loved it and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a scorching read that will keep them on the edge of their seats.
